NIDDK-DDEMD Program Director - Neural Mechanisms of Metabolic Control |
The Director of the Neural Mechanisms of Metabolic Control program in the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases of NIDDK (DDEMD) will work closely with the Division Director to enhance research activity by identifying opportunities for enabling basic and translational research investigating the role of the peripheral nervous system in the regulation of metabolic function and metabolic diseases of interest to DDEMD, specifically obesity and diabetes. |

Islet Isolation Center Request For Proposals |
The purpose of this RFP is to identify and evaluate expert human Islet Isolation Centers (IICs) that can provide the highest quality human isolated islets and related tissues to the IIDP in a dependable, consistent, cost-effective manner. IICs are hereby invited to submit an application in response to this Request for Proposals to become an IIDP IIC. The IIC should be led by an experienced investigator with a solid track record of providing resources and services to the diabetes research community, and should have proficiency in procuring and processing human islets for research use. dkNET New Investigator Pilot Program in Bioinformatics |
The dkNET New Investigator Pilot Program is designed to: (i) facilitate the ability of Early Stage and New Investigators with computational and bioinformatics expertise to pursue research questions in DEMD, or (ii) allow Early Stage and New PIs currently pursuing DEMD-related research to explore incorporating computational, mathematical, statistical, and/or bioinformatics approaches into their research projects. investigators developing bold, innovative, and challenging projects that will catalyze the field of
type 1 diabetes research and provide important advances in topics of interest to the network. To be considered “catalyzing”, the proposed research must address significant and currently
intractable problems by employing approaches or ideas that are currently outside the
mainstream of contemporary research. |
